The annual Australian Investment Management Summit is scheduled for 13-14 May 2009 in Melbourne, Australia. The government of Victoria is once again co-hosting the summit.

The 2008 summit was a huge success in fostering direct contact between global managers and Australian investors. In particular, the investor-to-manager ratio of the 3:1 ensured that managers had significant opportunities and time to meaningfully engage with investors.

Despite the contraction of global assets worldwide, Australian superannuation/pension funds continue to experience the highest long-term growth rate. Under a predominantly defined contributions regime, the current $1 trillion funds under management is projected to double within the next 10 years.
