The government’s new Financial Regulatory legislation will provide new powers to plan sponsors who have long sought a larger voice on issues of corporate governance. These expanded rights will be defined as regulators establish the rules to support the legislation. With a yawning funding gap, pension plans increasingly are being pressured to exit the retirement saving business. All roads appear to lead to a migration from DBs to DCs or do they?
