Where Do We Go From Here?  Find the Right Path for Affluent Families Amid Ongoing Uncertainty

The 3rd Annual Institutional Investor/Gleneagles Group Family Office Wealth Management Forum will offer a range of views, ideas and opinions on both the broad issues families need to be informed about, while closely reviewing the risks and opportunities inherent in the decisions available to them.

As market volatility and instability have persisted, the question affluent families are asking is what will it take to put the nation, and the world, on a path toward renewal that will provide the basis for sustained economic growth. It is understood that the key to this effort is having the appropriate policies in place to address unemployment, deficits, wage stagnation, widening income disparities, the national debt and the structural issues pertaining to entitlement programs, all of which continue to undermine progress three years after the depths of the credit crisis. How to pursue these goals remains the biggest barrier.

Further, with so many decisions dependent on political outcomes that lead to widely divergent responses, in what way will election results matter in areas such as estate planning, philanthropy, family office structures and other matters important for families? How will new regulations already in place stemming from the Dodd-Frank financial market legislation impact family offices? What other current developments must families be aware of?

We will seek to present outlooks on the economy, the domestic scene, geopolitics and the markets, in addition to providing information and viewpoints on specific investment opportunities and risks, along with developing trends that should be monitored. We will rely on an educational approach and format to deliver insights from outside experts, family office executives and principals, and representatives of our sponsoring organizations to provide multiple points of view.
